"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."
- John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day

RIGHT NOW, and then again tomorrow and then again the next day and on it goes day after day,
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Do all you can and don't worry about the odds against you. Wield the miracle of life's energy, never worrying whether we fail, concerned only that whether we fail or succeed we do so with all our might. That's all we need to know to feel certain that all our force of diligent effort is worth our while on Earth.

Ve's BB season

"Well done ladies, 21-7 overall (Including 15-1 over the last 5 tournaments) for the season for this wonderful and hard working group of girls!  Just remember players, "you are never there" meaning you can always improve on your individual and team game." quote from Ve's head BB coach. Well said and it was a good season. Her team won the last 4 tournaments, but then nearly half the team came down with the flu, but oh it was so worth it!! :)

This weekend

Very busy once again. Tuki debuted in her first play and performed in 3 shows and Ve's team once again won their BB tourney this weekend. Mim are struggling A LOT......I am beginning to understand why some families choose to disrupt the adoptions...too upset to say more at this time.

Our buddy Smurph

Smurph was euthanized today, just too much irreversible damage to his liver and hind legs. The vet thought at best he had a few weeks left, but they would have unpleasant weeks...RIP buddy!! As you can see he was quite active in our lives..

Not good

Smurph's blood work shows high numbers that reveal a damaged liver. The vet is waiting for one more piece of information before we decide what to do, but if Smurph doesn't start using his hind legs by Thursday, then we will have to let him go because I don't believe in keeping an animal alive if they can't eat, drink or are able to walk...it just isn't a good life, rather I believe in releasing them from the life of pain and indignity...but it won't be easy..he's my buddy over all the other cats....rough week ahead..

Hard times

A note to remember due to the extreme cold..-40 to -50 these last two days and 2 weeks ago, students have not had a full week of school since the week before Christmas...hard to believe.

Smurph had another seizure yesterday, he now has limited use of his back legs. The vet thinks a blood clot moved during the seizure. His heart sounds fine so blood was drawn and they will let me know later today as to what is going on. Apparently it is not good if they begin to seizure after they are 5 years old, and he is and the vet isn't sure if his back end weakness will recover...so we wait.

I have also turned down our house temp to 60 to help us from using up the 300 gallons of LP we have left before it warms up..wish us luck!!
