and haven't posted in a while. Students return this Tuesday. All last week I was preparing for the students and the week before I was in technology training. This school year will be busy because I will be training and working with 2 other new 7th grade teachers and I will be spending about 9 hours weekly on my Principal Practicum...
Today I am canning 3 batches of salsa which will probably equal to about 18 quarts. So far we have canned 40 quarts of beans, 6 quarts of beets, no pickles since our garden didn't produce any cucumbers this year. We have also froze too many to count shredded squash and broccoli. It looks like it will be a bumper year for tomatoes (just now ripening), butternut squash and pumpkins. One of our pumpkins is well over 50lbs already and there is about 6 weeks left of the growing season and it is getting bigger every day.
Mim is going into 11th grade with a very full academic load so she won't be running cross country this fall, and will continue to see her therapist Gretchen.
Ve is going into 5th grade, hopes to start violin and will be skating and basketball again this year, and will continue to see Gretchen as well.
Tuki is going into 3rd grade, hopes to start piano and will be skating and basketball again this year as well.
Even though I have my practicum and hopefully will be taking my Master's Exam on October 25th, I don't feel like we have a ton to do this fall and I am happy about that.
"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."

RIGHT NOW, and then again tomorrow and then again the next day and on it goes day after day,
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.
Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Do all you can and don't worry about the odds against you. Wield the miracle of life's energy, never worrying whether we fail, concerned only that whether we fail or succeed we do so with all our might. That's all we need to know to feel certain that all our force of diligent effort is worth our while on Earth.
