The jester hair style, but Ve likes it. Oh yeah, BTW, I did Ve's hair last week and every week since she has been home. Some weeks it turns out better than others. LOL

Humpty Dumpty (named by the girls) keeping our road and place safe
My BIL came today and tilled the garden. It is 6' X 60'. Twice as big as last year. I place it inside the dog's pen, to keep the deer out, and then surround it with 2' snow fencing to keep the dogs out.
I planted the whole thing today, just need more cucumber seeds and mulching between the rows. I am sore!!!

the three amigos on patrol...
this was also taken tonight, near the site of my gourds, also surrounded by 2' snow fencing
I startled them while taking the photos
I do love them in my yard, so I just get creative when I want to grow plants... it keeps my mind active...

Long overdue TukiLogic
Remember this post.
Well this morning at breakfast, Tuks states, literally out of the blue (we haven't talked about it since the week it happened),
Tuks: "Mama, sorry for getting out of bed"
Before she finishes my mind is racing, thinking "Did that little stinker get out of bed last night"...
but she continues "and cutting up your checks".
I ask " You mean from a long time ago"
Tuks: "Yes"
Me: "Well thank you Tuks, we had quite a rough morning then didn't we"
Tuks; "Yeah, and sorry Mama"

5 months home

I think the biggest change I have seen in the last month with Ve is that she seems more settled, relaxed, and it seems like she knows that she "BELONGS" here. With this new sense of belonging there has been a few crying lags for a good hour or more, several times within the last week. Deep, sorrowful crying that only subsides with me sitting along side her and rubbing her back as she relaxes enough to talk. Once she is finished crying we talk about what made her so sad to cry and it usually is a VERY insignificant issue. So I feel she has now, finally, entered into a grieving for her former life in Haiti phase. I don't like to see her hurt so, but I am glad she is finally grieving. I feel this will take us to the next step in bonding for the family, home and her new life. Healing only comes with good healthy grieving and letting go of the past and embracing the future. She feels comfortable enough to do this now.

Three years ago
we became a family of two. I arrived in Guatemala very late the night before,
May 10th.
Tuks was permanently placed in my arms on May 11, 2006, one day after the country of Guatemala celebrates Mothers Day. Two days later, May 13, 2006 it was the day that people in the USA celebrated Mothers Day. It was my first ever and now it is my third with two daughters.
