"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."
- John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day

RIGHT NOW, and then again tomorrow and then again the next day and on it goes day after day,
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Do all you can and don't worry about the odds against you. Wield the miracle of life's energy, never worrying whether we fail, concerned only that whether we fail or succeed we do so with all our might. That's all we need to know to feel certain that all our force of diligent effort is worth our while on Earth.

Appraisal

The house has been completely cleaned and wouldn't you know it but when I came home today, I found water in the basement surrounding our hot water heater. I had one estimate made and they figured it would cost me 1500.00, but then the appraisers came and I told them the situation and they referred me to a independent plumber and he is going to replace it tomorrow for about 1200.00, still expensive but better than the first bid.

The appraisers said the appraisal should meet the minimum of what I need to refinance and consolidate my equity
(the last I owe from the adoptions) with my home loan at a significantly lower rate.  This years appraisal, 2013 might be about 12,000 less than it was 3 years ago when the market was much higher.....oh well, my goal is have enough equity in my home that when I am looking for an administration job, I will be able to walk away with a minimum of 50,000 from my home thus allowing me to purchase elsewhere depending on where I get a job.

I am greatly anticipating the end of the school year..after last year being so tiring with all the surgeries and school and the extra work I did with taking on administration projects, I need a break. I won't really get a good break until the last week of July when my Admin Internship is completed (hopefully successfully).

This weekend is predicted to be warm, no snow..see the birds are never wrong....so we plan to start cleaning the chicken coop, manure, fertilizer for the garden. It will take us many weekends to get it completely clean but we need to get it on the garden ASAP. I anticipate that we will be planting about two weeks later than normal. I have all my seeds so now I just have to get them germinated in the plant stand this weekend. The peppers are the seeds that really depend on the early start with heat added for success.

I have been reading over the diary I kept when I was in the process of adopting Tuki and then about 1 year after she came home. It was amazing how many times I lamented about how financially tight I was and wondered how I was going to pay all my bills...but I did manage it and was still able to expand our family with Ve and Mim. As I am reading the diary I again realize how faithful and loving our God is...I admit I sort of forgot this during the trials of this last year....but it is good to see how God provides, and I am glad I documented it. I should have been documented more on here this last year, but I am cautious as to what I write since I know I sort of have an audience, but now I have realized that I will write for me, for my daughters and not worry what possible readers may think because this is valuable information that we can reflect on in later years. Thus my entries will be more rambling, perhaps repetitive and probably more transparent.

Mim has a track meet tomorrow. She was able to run varsity at the last meet but it was out of town so we couldn't see her run, but tomorrow's meet is in town so we will be attending. Mim and Ve had their softball tryouts so now ve has been picked for a team, Tuki is on a team without tryouts since she is so young, and we are waiting to hear what team Mim will be on. They will all be on different teams and four nights a week, Mim and Tuki on Monday and Wednesdays and Ve on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition they will have a month long, 5 days a week of swim lessons.

I plan to also pick up our one man kayak this weekend (in town) and possibly our tandem kayak next weekend located in a town 2 hours away..depending on time available.

Lastly I have a 15 page paper to write for my last class of my current admin class...haven't started yet and I really don't feel motivated, but it needs to be done by May 8th..oh well I better get motivated soon!!!
