"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."
- John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day

RIGHT NOW, and then again tomorrow and then again the next day and on it goes day after day,
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Do all you can and don't worry about the odds against you. Wield the miracle of life's energy, never worrying whether we fail, concerned only that whether we fail or succeed we do so with all our might. That's all we need to know to feel certain that all our force of diligent effort is worth our while on Earth.

Mother's Day

Yesterday, Mother's Day was spent outside, all 4 of us working (pulling grass chunks) a new, large piece of tilled ground and preparing it for our garden. It is a sunnier spot than where we previously had it. We will compete with the deer, but hopefully we will not only get good healthy plants, but also ALLOT of produce. Mim told me she used to work the garden in Haiti with her Haitian dad, so she was somewhat knowledgeable about the process. It took us a great deal of time so I kept reminding the girls of our future bountiful harvest... LOL, finally I just bribed them with doughnuts..it worked. The garden is prepared, the mulch has been laid (from mucking out the chicken house) and in a week or so we will plant.....perfect day for me, all home spending time together, working, interacting, laughing and functioning as a family.

4 weeks left of school.....

The summer is mostly planned out, vacations, summer school, swimming, swimming lessons, gardening, hopefully get back into shape, time spent with family and friends, cleaning the house from top to bottom....and who knows what else....it is all just around the corner.
