3 Month Update

Ve has been home 3 months today, geeze, already 3 months. She sure has accomplished much in the months since being home.



Her communication is so good that we can and do carry on great talks. She seems to be VERY happy, always singing, laughing and dancing. Her understanding has drastically improved since having the two French translators at school. She talks about her friends at school and how she has GREEN days, which are many,(meaning her behavior is the best, yellow is 1 infraction, red is a bad day). She now loves to go outside or go to the YMCA. She has turned into a great eater, and won't resist any thing I place on her plate. She prays at church, at meals and together with me & Tuks at night before bedtime. She continues to be a great sleeper. We haven't made it out of her pull-ups at night, but we will get there sooner or later. We talk often about when Mim will be coming home and she seems excited for her to get here. She still isn't' that interested in people talking with her in creole or talking in general about Haiti, at least not yet. She does love to look at the other kids at the O and talk about them. I guess I would have to say she is talking more about the other kids at the O, but has yet to mention anything about her birth Mom or family.




The more we are able to communicate the better I am able to see her personality come shining through. She is a sweet girl, loving, affectionate and a class clown to boot. It is no wonder she is very popular with her classmates. According to her teachers Ve has a "bigger than life" personality. I would have to say that I agree.

She has started to take on the bigger sister role with Tuks, while Tuks is allowing her to do it.

That is so great! It sounds like she adjusted even easier than G...have you had many of those defiance fits? And have the translators been speaking with her in French? I wonder if she was getting some French at the O. That is wonderful she was helped by that. I am sure that will help future parents with ideas of what to try with their older kids.
