"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."
- John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day

RIGHT NOW, and then again tomorrow and then again the next day and on it goes day after day,
1/2 OF THE WORLD lives on LESS THAN 2 DOLLARS each day.

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Do all you can and don't worry about the odds against you. Wield the miracle of life's energy, never worrying whether we fail, concerned only that whether we fail or succeed we do so with all our might. That's all we need to know to feel certain that all our force of diligent effort is worth our while on Earth.

All before 7:00am!!!!!!!!

Whew, take a seat, grab something to drink because I am about to tell you a tale that is nearly hard to believe! BUT, I know it is true because I lived it just this morning.

12:55am - Tuks is waking me up by jumping on my bed. I quickly get up and take her back to her bed and promptly tell her to go back to sleep. I return to my room and proceed to do what I had instructed Tuks to do.

3:45 am - I hear a vibrating sound down in the kitchen, I immediately realize that Tuks is awake and downstairs. I rush out of my room, run downstairs and take Tuks, no not so sweetly back upstairs again tell her to go to sleep. After about 30 some minutes she stops crying from being so mad that I interrupted her midnight play, she fell asleep.

5:30am - I get up to shower, get ready for school and take the dogs outside to the frigid air. Tuks is still asleep. She wakes when I am in the basement feeding the dogs. She wakes crying, I wonder why!! Maybe the lack of sleep had something to do with it...

After letting the dogs in the pen, I proceed to enter the kitchen and I witness the complete mess from the night before. Tuks had set up the table as a painting station. Done correctly mind you, since I taught her the set-up technique on Saturday. Then, I also notice in the far corner by the stove, an adult scissor with pieces of paper all cut up next to it. I can't make out what it is she exactly cut up, but it was indeed cut into small pieces. Lastly I notice, my 3 envelopes containing bills, stamped, addressed, and set aside for mailing, all helter skelter over the kitchen. The envelopes were ripped, the written checks located in various places, one even in the garbage. She had also managed to throw away a check that I had not cashed yet. To say I was PO'd is an understatement. I told her loudly to clean up her mess, and then proceeded in telling her WHY she was NOT to get out of bed in the middle of the night AGAIN!! I admit I was pretty upset...

THEN, after I had the van running to warm it up, I went to the dog pen and leashed up the dogs to take back to the house. Well the snaps were a little frozen, and they weren't latching correctly. So I notice on the way to the house, Watson, the dog who does not come to his name once off his leash, was trotting off away from the house. Yes, he was off once again and running...I called him once and just let him go.

I put the other two in the house, I put Tuks in her car seat and jumped in the van, only to find out that the drivers door was frozen and would not latch. I was furious at this point, and just held the door shut all the way to Angie's school. Tuks never said a word all the way there. She knew it was a rough morning.

I left the van running in hopes that it would loosen the door up while bringing Tuks into the daycare. So when I went back outside, the van had warmed up and I could now latch the door. One down..two problems to go. I realized I forgot my package that I was mailing to GR, the woman whom agreed to escort Ve. I drove quickly back home. Watson was sitting on the stoop of the stairs. I got out of the van, and gently called his name to come to me. He took one quick look in my direction and immediately took off in the opposite direction..D*** dog!!!!

I picked up the package, went to school, called the Humane Society and let them know about Watson. Then went about my day until a little after 11:00. I left during my lunch, mailed my package, and on the way back to school I stopped back at my house. There was Watson, sitting on the south side of the house, limping and cold. I jumped out of the van, called his name and he came to me and I put him in the house. Two down, one problem left to go..

Currently, Tuks is in her room, with bells on the door handle and a baby gate in the door way. She has attempted to get out three times already and I am being consistent in letting her know that she was not to get out of the room. So as to the solving of this third problem, it still remains unsolved as of 8:00pm Tuesday night...the saga continues....................

Oh my. . .what a day! I hope last night went much better for you! What a character that little girl is, getting up like that in the night. I would have loved to know what her thought process was. I love that 3-year old sense of adventure, just not in the middle of the night :)
